Itinerary of the Minitrekking tour
The journey begins with the pickup of passengers who opted for the option with transfers, taking them to Puerto Bajo Las Sombras, located within Los Glaciares National Park, 70 km from El Calafate. From here, we embark to cross the Rico Arm of Lake Argentino, approaching the starting point of the unforgettable trekking.
Trekking through the forest in search of the glacier
We begin our adventure with a fascinating walk through the lush Patagonian Andean Forest, revealing the first stunning views of the Perito Moreno Glacier and sighting the wonderful ice formations. Before embarking on the ice trekking, our expert guides will provide the necessary instructions to ensure an exciting and safe experience.
Ice trekking, an unforgettable experience!
Equipped with crampons, helmets, and poles, we will begin the minitrekking on the glacier, exploring unique ice formations such as deep crevasses, blue sinkholes, imposing seracs, lagoons, and formations. Although the circuit presents a moderate level of difficulty, the ice surface is firm and safe, allowing you to fully enjoy this unique experience.
Whiskey with glacier ice and farewell.
At the conclusion of the trekking, we will provide our passengers with whiskey with ice from the glacier. Then, we will return along the same trail to complete the three-hour walk along the lake shore, moraine, ice, and forest. Back at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, you can admire the imposing walls of the glacier from the boat.
For those who opted for transfers, we will comfortably return them to their hotels at the end of the tour. If not staying in a hotel or hostel, a convenient meeting point will be assigned for the start of the tour.
- Passengers without transfers must arrive punctually at Puerto Bajo Las Sombras, arriving early is recommended to explore the walkways on their own before heading to the port to start the navigation and ice trekking. The option to add transfers is available more than 7 days in advance of the selected date.
