El Chaltén + Miradores is a full day tour in which the city of El Chaltén is visited, departing from El Calafate. Includes stops and quiet walks in viewpoints, lunch at leisure to tour the typical mountain town, always accompanied by a guide. It is ideal for those who wish to visit El Chaltén in a relaxed way and without physical demands.
We will pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate starting at 7:00 a.m. to go to the mythical Route 40 towards El Chaltén. This route borders the Argentinian Lake, crossing the Santa Cruz River and the La Leona River. The tour continues bordering the Viedma Lake, with the Andes Mountains in the background, before arriving at a stop at the Viedma Glacier viewpoint. From here you can see a beautiful view of the Viedma Glacier, the Andes Mountain Range and the emblematic Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.
After 3 hours and 220 km, we will arrive at the mountain village of El Chaltén. The first activity is to visit the National Park Visitors Center where they will be explained about Chaltén and the famous hills that surround it. Later you will take a guided walk of 1 hour to the ‘Mirador de los Cóndores’. From the viewpoint you can see magnificent views of Mount Fitz Roy, and the city of El Chalten. Upon descending, they will go to a restaurant in the city center where they can have home-cooked lunch. After lunch, the excursion will continue visiting ‘Chorrillo del Salto’ (a famous waterfall located a few minutes from downtown) while taking a relaxed walk through the forest. To end the tour, you return to El Chaltén, where you will have free time to explore the downtown area on your own for 30 minutes and then return to El Calafate, arriving at 8:00 p.m.
